A series of murders dubbed the "New Generation Madness" gained widespread attention throughout Shibuya. As these crimes gained notoriety, they became a hot topic of discussion among the locals. Nonetheless, Takumi Nishijou, a high school otaku who frequently experiences delusions and believes he is constantly being watched, is uninterested in these "New Gen" murders. Takumi spends his time playing online games and watching anime, unconcerned about the real world. His normal life is upended, however, when he receives a horrifying image of a man staked to a wall from a user named Shogun. Takumi, after calming himself at an internet cafe, witnesses the exact same murder scene depicted in the image take place right in front of his eyes.
