Shoko Asahara established the Japanese end-of-the-world cult known as Aum Shinrikyou in 1984. It was discovered to have been behind a second, less severe sarin assault the year before, as well as the deadly Tokyo subway sarin attack in 1995. In order to attract otaku to their cult, the cult established its own studio in 1991 under the name MAT (Manga, Animation, and Team). This 10-episode OVA mostly centers on Asahara playing the role of Christ. Initially, each of the 10 episodes was sold separately, but now the cult's official YouTube account has a compilation.
