People's lives have been altered with the introduction of Virtual Reality and Circlet Technology. Circlet Bout, a new competitive electronic sport, arises, and schools compete to select the strongest Circlet Bout Club and player. Yuuka Sasaki is mistaken for a challenger one day and competes against Chikage Fujimura, Japan's top player, tying the hard bout despite her inexperience. These events sparked her interest in the sport, and she decided to pursue a career as a Circlet Bout player. Yuuka travels to Tokyo two years later and enrolls at Union School, where she may practice and follow her ambition of fighting Chikage once more. When she arrives at Union School, she learns that the club is closed.
