However, the arrival of Ren Shigyou, a new student at Miaka's high school, disrupts their happy days. Shigyou's supporters abruptly assault the duo, causing them to tumble from the school's roof into a crimson light and be sent to the world of The Universe of the Four Gods. Returning to Tamahome, Taka's former home, the pair discovers that an evil monster is behind the previous happenings.
