Disboard is a world ruled by Tet, the One True God, and home to sixteen sentient species. Imanity, the lowest of the sixteen, is made up of humans, a species with no aptitude for magic. Humankind appears to have no way out of its position in a society where everything is chosen by simple games—but the presence of two strangers changes everything. On Earth, stepsiblings Sora and Shiro are two inseparable shut-ins who dominate numerous online games under the handle "Blank." Despite their digital fame, the pair believes that life is just another boring game. They are unexpectedly taken to Disboard after replying to a message from an anonymous user. Tet, the mystery messenger, educates them about the world's unbreakable rules.
