Following the discovery of Photon Power in the near future, humanity begins another energy revolution. The mineral found beneath the foothills of Mt. Fuji was to be used to solve the world's energy woes with its incredible power. Dr. Hell, a lunatic seeking global dominance, commands an army of mechanical animals unearthed from the ruins of ancient Greece to steal the Photon Power Lab for himself, along with his minions Baron Ashura, Count Brocken, and Viscount Pygman. The onslaught is met front on by the hot-blooded youth Kabuto Kouji, who pilots the Photon Powered robot developed by his grandpa, Mazinger Z. However, many legends surrounding the Mycenaean Civilization and the Kabuto family are at stake in this war between Dr. Hell and the Kabuto family.
